On April 26, a group of Karma co-op members and the broader community participated in the Placemaking in Karma Lane webinar, part of Karma Conversation.
It was a great session where we learnt from placemaking and laneway experts about the importance of laneways and great ways to engage the community, especially children, in creating active public spaces that welcome everyone. But, more importantly, we started a conversation about the potential of Karma Laney that got everyone excited.

Now is it time to get dirty! Everyone is welcome to join us and become a place maker. What does this mean? We will be having fun in front of the store, cleaning, painting, and moving things around to make the front of the store look great for 50th-anniversary celebration on June 25, 2022, from 2-6 pm!
And at the same time, by doing things together, we will start to identify opportunities and gaps that will inform Karma Lane future plan. Furthermore, build a team of residents that can make all this happen.
Are you interested in being part? Please send me an e-mail to mqueirolo@surkl.ca or drop by Karma Co-op’s storefront on these dates. We will be there placemaking together!
