Product Change is in the Air at Karma

If you’ve been shopping at Karma this summer you may have noticed that the bread and healthcare sections switched places. This change was implemented after our co-op consultant, Columinate, suggested that healthcare items be stocked in a less busy part of the store. To monitor how this change has affected bread and healthcare sales we‘ve been keeping track of sales, pre and post move. So far, the change has been positive for healthcare (more sales), but negative for bread (less sales), so a different configuration may be warranted. We will collect a few more weeks of data and then act accordingly.

Another change that was suggested by Columinate was that since Karma occupies such a small space, it would be financially beneficial to only sell products that members purchase regularly. To this end we are in the process of discontinuing products that do not sell well and focusing on products that Karma members purchase. As part of this process, we’d love to hear from you about additional items that you would purchase from Karma if they were available in store – here is a Google form you can use to let us know. When you are shopping at the store, you can also look for the product survey box at checkout and let us know if there are other items that Karma should carry. We’ll tally the mentions from members and use this to inform purchasing decisions going forward. We look forward to hearing from you!
