Please welcome Russell Steven, Karma’s new full-time General Manager, who will be joining us on September 6, 2022. Russell comes with deep knowledge of all aspects of grocery retail and the competitive Toronto grocery market.

He has held a number of management positions including store franchise owner, Grocery Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and other positions for larger grocery chains. Over the past 10 years he has worked primarily as a Space Management Specialist for Rabba Fine Foods stores in the GTA, helping each store optimize its small retail space similar to Karma’s of 2,000-5,000 square feet, and maximizing its merchandising opportunities as customized for each store.

Russell is an experienced manager working with unionized staff. He brings a number of important skills to help us rebuild Karma’s business in the year ahead, and the Board of Directors is excited to be working with Russell. Paul DeCampo, who has been our part-time GM since Talia’s departure, will be orienting Russell to ensure a smooth transition, and will then return to Karma’s Board of Directors following the GM transition.

When you are in the store, please also thank Paul DeCampo for stepping in as Interim GM, providing leadership, and ensuring two seamless transitions for Karma this year.
