Climate Campfire

Author: Jennifer Knoch (Karma’s Seed Librarian)

For many of us, climate change is often on our minds, with all its associated worry, anger, despair, frustration, guilt, and grief. But these are emotions we often feel like we can’t talk about — it’s a surefire way to kill the buzz at almost any dinner party. Though these feelings can feel awful and isolating, I’ve learned that talking about them can be incredibly freeing, validating, and sometimes even inspiring.

So join me to gather around a crackling campfire in my Annex backyard, drink tea or hot chocolate, and participate in a facilitated small-group discussion to share, validate, and perhaps recalibrate some of our climate feelings.

Date & time: Wednesday, October 19, 7:30–9 p.m. (Weather permitting. Event will be rescheduled in case of rain.)

Location: The Annex, about a five-minute walk from Karma. Address provided upon

registration.

Accessibility: The backyard is accessible but the washroom is not (it is up three flights of stairs).

Fee: Free, but donations are encouraged to offset the cost of refreshments and firewood.
